How does this approach differ from other types of therapy?
The approach is different from traditional talking therapies as it combines techniques that work with the mind and body, the conscious and the unconscious. Where appropriate I will introduce you to tools that you can use in your daily life. It is a solution-focused approach, which doesn’t involve having regular sessions over the extended period of time that traditional therapy normally requires. It doesn’t involve reliving painful or difficult experiences from the past without any sense of resolution.
Why do you use both of the words therapy and coaching to describe what you offer?
The kind of techniques I use combine the skillset of both therapist and coach and I am trained in both disciplines. It is a more supportive way of using coaching skills and a more solution-focused way of using therapy. It is about helping you to find the answers and solutions that are right for you.
How many sessions will I need?
In some cases change can happen quickly, however the speed of results will depend on the issue we are working on. I would expect a minimum of 3-5 sessions to be required initially, but real lasting change can take longer and be more gradual. The more you invest in the process the more worthwhile and lasting the results.
We can discuss this further at the initial consultation. Each appointment is booked in turn so there is no pressure to sign up to more than one at a time, unless you prefer to book a series of sessions in advance.
I don’t live in Bath or the surrounding area and/or I can’t attend face to face sessions, can I still work with you?
Yes absolutely. We can work together online, via Zoom. I am very experienced in working this way and find it to be an effective way of working. It means that you can enjoy the benefits from the comfort of your own home or workplace. You will just need to ensure that you are in a private space where you are unlikely to be interrupted.
What is your cancellation policy?
Once a session has been booked, I ask for at least 24 hours notice of cancellation by email or by phone.
How can I pay for sessions?
You can either pay by cash at the session or by online payment by bank transfer on the day of the session.
